Happy Birthday to my Mum who is 89 today – but she doesn’t know that it is her birthday as she has advanced dementia. Unfortunately this year she didn’t even know what her birthday card and present were, although I did get a hint of a smile when talking about cakes and candles.

Sad to see a vibrant Mum deteriorating so slowly, but I still see her several times each week to help with her lunch time meal.
