………. the darker coloured ears, tip of tail and nose of some animals is caused by temperature sensitivity.
Last December Molly had a lump removed from her back and she had a bald patch there for a couple for months. Now that her coat has regrown it is a dark colour the same as her ears, tip of her tail and around her mouth. The big dark blob on her back looks a bit strange.
However when she went for vaccinations today the vet told me that over time the coat will become lighter again as her coat is temperature sensitive (darker in the cooler extremities). The new growth is dark because the bare skin was cold, but now that area has warmed with of the wool covering, her coat will become the lighter ‘normal’ colour again.
Seems a logical explanation ……………. time will tell if it is true!?!?!?
