………….. since we were jolted and thrown out of our beds by our first earthquake. And still they rumble through the city every now and again, and each time we instinctively stop to check if it is a ‘big one’. That fight or flight response will be always be with us whenever we feel a shudder or hear the rumble. 1000 days ago we could never have imagined what was ahead of us.

This is just another record shot to follow our disappearing city. Not a good image I know, but sometimes I just need to record a significant day.

I wonder what our city will look like in another 1000 days – there is still an lot of destruction and demolition and empty spaces, but plans are slowly taking shape for the development of the central city, but that is going to take a lot longer than 1000 days.

More importantly I hope that in another 1000 days no-one will be living in garages, or cars, or in cold damp damaged homes, or paying rent while still paying a mortgage on an uninhabitable home. But with the current rate of progress I fear that some things will not change very much.
