Found my knitting needle bag today, full of needles of all sorts – metal, plastic, long short, thick, thin, circular, double ended, metric sizes, UK sizes, US sizes – plus an assortment of crochet hooks and tatting shuttles.

Made me think of my mum because, when I was little, I was always intrigued by her knitting needles, her sewing box and her button tin. I like matching colours, shapes or patterns so these provided a plentiful supply of ‘toys’ for me to play with.
