A stunning day in the Cairgorms so yet another t-shirts and shorts day 🙂

I have seen many photos of the ruins on the island of Loch an Eilein so was keen to walk around the loch. The walk through trees, heather and bracken was beautiful, and the loch was so calm and peaceful.

We started out early enough this morning but it took us 4 hours to travel about 20 miles. So beautiful, so many places to stop and explore, and friendly locals who are happy to chat.

We then headed south through Pitloughly, along Loch Tay to Killin, south to stay at a beautiful hotel overlooking a lake at Port of Menteith near Calendar.
