Ok, last night life had revenge on me.

For the last 3 weeks, I have been stirring a little… Ok, so its been a lot. For those of you that know Sarah, then you will probably be interested to learn shes not that keen on heights. But not like most people are.

Sarah is also not keen on any situation that could ultimately lead to falling… Which includes lifts, windows in tall buildings, escalator, and anywhere that Shane breaking stuff could lead to heights being involved.

So for 4 weeks I have been stirring by jumping up and down in our lift – not a lot, but just enough to make it shake a little. Sarah has been getting less and less impressed…

Anyway, last night I went down stairs to see if our DVD’s had arrived from Fatso. I checked the mailbox (which was empty), and got back in the lift.

Everything started fine, for a few seconds anyway… But then with an almighty clunk, the whole lift came to a stop (and believe it or not, I hadn’t even been doing anything!).

So there I was stuck in the lift… I called the emergency number, and they said they would try and get someone down to get me out, they would call me back in 15 min and let me know how they were getting on.

Now, by this point I was bored (I mean, I’d been in the lift for about 60secs). So I decided to see if I could prise the doors open…

It turned out that I was sitting about a foot above level 1, so I stepped out and headed back up stairs for tea.

It turns out that last time it stopped, the person was stuck in it for 3/4 of an hour! Imagine what I would have done by then had I not been able to get myself out – I mean I was bored after the first 30 sec!
