Well, I have good news….. We get our little car (squirtle) back tomorrow!!! He is apparently all fixed – Good as new. Lets hope so.
In other news, we had shanes parents up for the weekend, which was really good. We are did nothing. Now I use “nothing” loosely here, as everyone who knows Shane is aware of his lack of ability in doing “nothing”!!! Now add Shane with his Dad and its all go (And I do mean this in a good way)
However, this time we did do virtually nothing or more precisely we achieved nothing. We spent some of the weekend looking at different options for DVD records, TV’s and Palm’s. But we did go out for tea, which was really good.
In the process of trying to decide where to go for tea, I stumbled upon this website www.dineout.co.nz. Now this website is very cool. It has rating for different restaurants, cafes etc. So if you are looking to go out at all, check this out. Now you maybe asking are the rating on it any good. Well, I think they are!
Heres why…..
When we flew back into the country in June, the next day we were starving and since we had only moved into our flat the afternoon before, we had no food. So we went driving to find a Pak’n’Save (which if anyone is interested is not just over the harbour bridge) So anyway, we ended up in Takapuna and decided to stop at a cafe and have breakfast. The first one looked dodgy so we went to Sago. Now it was quiet (only about 4 tables in use) the staff were friendly, although they did forget to bring are knives and forks, the food was great – huge meals (we couldn’t eat them all) and over all a good experience.
So, three weeks later we took Duncan back there. It took 20 mins to get the menu (warning bells should have sound about here but last time was so good) It was then another 30 mins to get coffee, and then another 15 to get the meals which were smaller and totally different to last time and to top it off, they forgot the knives and forks!!! On the way out to pay there was a comments book – there were things like “I think I could make the wine in the time it took you to pour it” “we are never coming back !! Have you ever heard of Customer service” etc. (as an aside, if you were them wouldn’t you take that off the counter???)
Anyway, the point to this is the website has the same comments (and worse) and is consistent with other experiences that we have had at other places!!!
Anyway you are all probably sick of me by now, so more later
Sarah
