Well it has certainly been a very interesting day in NZ today. I don’t think there has been any city where something hasn’t happened.

Of important note Christchurch is covered in snow and Auckland was without power (the whole of Auckland right down to Hamilton lost power) as a tree caused a wire to snap. It went down at 8am and didn’t get back up until 1pm… by which time we has all gone home from work. So it was total chaos as all the traffic lights went out and there was heavy rain and winds!!

So all and all today has been interesting if nothing else.

Anyway over the weekend we took part in a photo competition – all the photos had to been taken on Saturday and in Auckland – it was called Auckland Photo day. So we spent the day walking round and taking photos. While eating brunch we saw a sail boat that was taking tours out for a sail onto the harbour so we went for a spin. It was real fun – i even got to steer the boat!!!! It was heaps of fun!!

We then ended up taking photos up at one tree hill right on dusk before heading round to Maxwells to watch the rugby (yes we have also been watching the football world cup matches!!!)

So overall it was a very good weekend.
