We were playing in the botanical gardens this morning, jumping in leaves, having a blast.
CJ then decided he’d gather up sticks for a pretend camp fire. His face lit up when I offered up that we could take home the sticks for a real camp fire.
He was so grown up. He built the fire so carefully and helped light it. He sat in the chair and watched it light, never taking an eye off it as it burned to make sure it was ‘safe’.
Then we made some damper for him to cook on a rosemary stick. He never let go of his stick, slowly turning it over and over in his fire.
G and Nan came over to share in the fun.
Such a special night for me seeing him grow up and learn to cook on his first open fire.
