I could hardly contain my excitement – I knew this morning was different…

It felt like a sudden change, almost from one day to the next

but its been hanging over us for a while, like a building storm

and this morning I knew it was here

how did I know?

I opened the bathroom window for my shower

there was no birds, no sun, no more ice creams and sunburn

just the cool crisp air which swept around me

summer was suddenly a distant memory…

the excitement of autumn was here!

misty mornings… piles of fallen leaves… running through orange landscapes…

I love autumn

and today was not september

it was autumn 1st
