Dragging myself out of bed was a struggle…
my feet hit the floor with a tired thump
and I struggled at the curtains.
Rubbing my eyes didn’t help
the world was blurry.
A light fog had picked up and was flowing towards us over the vineyard.
The sun couldn’t pierce the mist, but it made itself felt
turning everything a misty pink.
We stumbled out the door… another struggling monday morning…
heater on full, freezing cold
through the town, busy,
hmmm, Mondays.
around the bend and into the country
and then the sun appeared across the field
time for a U-turn
quickly find somewhere to stop
out of the car into the freezing air, no time for a jacket
Suddenly, with a click…
Monday morning had gone, and we had started the week with a smile.
