S1 went to the gym, so I went for a walk…
I had a difficult choice of blips tonight… but settled on this wind blown scene.
I know this may sound silly…
Benek has updated the last few weeks. He’s an inspiration to me (and I am sure he is to many of you as well). I love the raw talent that shows through in his shots. The passion.
It was the same with seaurchin (who’s photos I still trawl through for inspiration, despite her moving on).
It’s strange when you realise your inspirational hero’s are actually just people. We often put them on high and think of them as unapproachable. But they are just people in the end.
Theres plenty of photographers I admire, including a number right here on Blip. Heres a couple that are top of mind…
I still think Kiwidino has a lot to answer for… he showed me some amazing photos when I was just a kid and surprisingly a few of them are still vivid in my mind. Perhaps it was this that originally made me pick up a camera.
Chris Weeks is another I watch (outside of blip)… a street photographer at its best. A discrete rangefinder, black and whites full of emotion. Rubbing shoulders with the who’s who, mixed with scenes about strangers. Is this the inspiration for my B&W character portraits – possibly I suppose.
