We had a mini milestone at home today. CJ completed his first digital ‘hack’.
He has a lego game where you must build a set and then use augmented reality to scan the set to play the game.
Today CJ discovered that the AR scanning doesn’t need a three dimensional set to scan, it can be fooled by a picture. Knowing this allowed him to pull up pictures of sets he doesn’t own on a 2nd phone, and unlock the games for those sets to complete the challenges.
I won’t lie. I’m pretty proud to this level of opportunity spotting and problem solving.
Learning that some ‘rules’ aren’t hard and fast unbreakable truths feels like an important step in his growing up. And so the adventure begins.
