I’m not normally one to rant, but tonight I must…
What is it with people who speed in built up areas?
I was amazed at the speed people were doing through our little town tonight when I went out for a photo.
Theres plenty of open roads where people can do what they like, but speeding through a small village – straight past the train station with pedestrians about…
Some people just don’t get it do they?
And tonight it seemed to be every 2nd car was doing well over the norm…
Don’t get me wrong, I actually drive a performance vehicle and love an open road as much as the next hoon… but speeding around towns, I mean, really?
It must have been a long day as it got to me rather quickly tonight.
I eventually cracked.
I can confirm the best way to slow them down is a well timed, full power, camera flash when they get about 5 meters past you.
I can only imagine the look on their faces. A flying porsche and pair of kids in fiestas may well think they have a ‘special letter’ coming in the mail. But most importantly they were travelling a little slower for the rest of their trip.

Edit: Just saw my one year ago shot – that portrait still makes me smile.[/i]
