I was asked a question today…

what will the world be like in 20 years?

I have lots of thoughts…

** The largest computers will have the processing power of the human mind and will be close to what we call consciousness.

** Computers will have passed the ‘Turing test’ only 2 years earlier.

** There will be a single world governing body that covers 95% of the worlds wealth

** Everything you say and do will be recorded, permanently

** Fossil Fuels will be sold in a restricted number of places, with fuel cells and bio-diesel being common

** Batteries will be the limiting factor to hand held devices for the next 10 years, and then wireless charging will take over everything.

** Kids born at that time will laugh at the way we connect things together today with wires.

** Meat will be grown artificially (vats of meat). This will remove food shortages (and quality control will make the meat healthier than eating livestock thus reducing heart disease).

** The first people who will live to 200 will be celebrating their 5th birthday.

** I will be almost 50

I wonder where the wind will take us…

P.S. Am I allowed to start planning my mid life crisis in advance? 🙂
