Day 15:
We had the 2nd day of our NCT course today.

I’m feeling surprisingly chilled out and comfortable that we know what to do when Baby is finally ready to arrive.

I think S1 and I have more experience of certain elements of labor having grown up with sheep around.
For a few years my parents sent me down to the farm to help with lambing.
I learnt a lot about the facts of life, however I’m amazed how transferable some of it is.

While lambing is actually completely different, it’s also surprisingly similar. As we went through the course, there were lots of questions asked which I hadn’t even considered, I just took the answers for granted. I’d clearly learnt more on the farm than I had ever expected.

So my positive experience for the day, I’m actually feeling like we are really prepared for the next month waiting for baby.

Today I’m grateful for:
– Living in such a lovely little village where everyone waves and smiles. We met some lovely people from town on the course which really brought that home.

– I’m glad the UK health system has an option to do these courses. It wasn’t the content which was nearly as important as the people element.

– I’m glad my parents sent me to the farm as a teenager. It was hard satisfying work, but the lessons I learnt have lasted a life time (including how to back a trailer!).
