Feeling better after a few rough days, so we made a snap call to head north for a night.

We had a hotel booked half way back for our Scotland plans, so we made a call to go for it anyway.

A quick look on a map and we spotted a Unesco world heritage site on the way so off we went to the Derent Valley Mills for the day.

A cracking day out. Lernt a lot and found it fascinating.

Here we are at the first water powered cotton factory in the world, and then inthe basement at the worlds 2nd oldest fireproof building.

A perfect day away.
