I’m in the process of hacking this little box into my car to get real time reporting off the main computer.

To do it, I wanted to switch one of the live wires to be ignition switched rather than always on, so I brought an adapter and started cutting, looking for the right wire.

One by one I had to test the wires, until I got the right one.

Sure enough, as is Murphys Law, it was the very last wire, 16th out of 16. There was the appropriate amount of swearing before sealing it all back together.

A good 30 min work. I needed that today.
