Fun in the sun… well, english sun…

We went to Hyde park calling yesterday… a music fest in Hyde Park.

Fantastic.

Crowded House were there.

Back together. I’m not sure when they split.

But it was still the same old Crowded House.

Fantastic.

Neil Finn is a star. A natural.

Enjoyed the support acts too… some band called The Feeling. English, but looked to have a real following.

Halfway through crowded house the sky just opened. Not just wet, but torrential. My umbrella was so wet it was dripping through.

Even my Canvas Pants were wet through. I don’t even thing the washing machine gets them wet through.

We skipped out after Crowded House.

Someone called Peter Gabriel was on next. I’m sure your laugh but we don’t know who he is.

Apparently hes big.

Went to Frasers instead. He was having a BBQ. Got home around 3.30am.

Driving home the sky was blue and a red sunrise appearing. All I could think was how jealous Mayo would be of being able to get sunset and sunrise pics only 5 hours apart.

Looked at the camera but went to bed instead.

Today we went hunting.

Car hunting. Had one good one on the list to see.

Rang a few with promise, but prices weren’t realistic. So headed to see the one we had found on Friday.

MX-5 2004 1.8 sport.

Limited Edition… but half the MX-5s are.

This one had only 2000 made. Quality sound system, sports performance, limited slip diff, and a bunch of toys.

Best of all, heated leather seats in red and black.

After a fair bit of negotiating we now have a car.

I love it. Sarahs still in top ranking, but the cars a close second.

Actually, second equal with my laptop.

Mmmm, red and black leather.

Its a convertible… and this is England… not the smartest choice…

I’m an optimist. But optimism doesn’t change the rain outside today.

I’m sure tomorrow will be a top down day.

Theres only two of us, so we decided it was right to get a sports car just for us.

Another Mazda. But slightly more up market than squirtle was.

Happy Shane ans Sarah.

We have a new car!

  1. Peter Gabriel was the lead singer of Genisis before Phill Collins. He then went onto a sucessful solo career where he eventually became heavily infulenced by African music and then by the troubles in Africa. So not only am I surprised you haven’t heard of his music, I’m also surprised you haven’t heard of his humanitarian efforts.

  2. I know I should know who he is, but celebrity names just don’t mean anything to me… I’m sure I’d recognize the music, but the name just doesn’t ring any real bells.

I must say, it does look very nice. I am sure you will find a day when you can enjoy having the top down.

  4. i’m sure you’ll laugh when i mention the boot is even smaller than the one we had in squirtle! Camping will be interesting…

  5. That’s crazy, a sizeable boot is the first thing I look for in a car.

  6. How cool, you’ve joined the convertible club! No top down days here of late. Sympathise on the boot space those, it gets bloody frustrating at times!

  7. Ah Mazdas, they just don’t consider the boots. Mine’s big, but the opening is small, so annoying. Oh, and if you download the trailer to “In Good Company”, Peter Gabriel’s “Solsbury Hill” music plays about midway through 🙂

Oh, and we currently have 15 hours between sunset and sunrise. You suck 😛

  8. hey, all this talk of concerts and crowded house is making me excited to head that way… 3 weeks and counting, wow.
