Years ago I was volunteered to be our departments HR rep. For those of you that know me you’ll probably laugh at that as a ridiculous idea. It probably was, but I had fun none the less.

I’ll never forget the HR person. She was amazing. One thing sticks in my mind more than most; she once produced a study showing the number one indicator of staff satisfaction in a job is whether a staff member has a ‘best friend’ at work.

It hit a cord with me. If you are going to turn up day after day then you need to love the people you work with.

I’ve always had great friends at work (amazingly three of the best friends I’ve had have all been named Jo!).

And that brings me to today.

I have the best group of friends at work. It’s simply amazing.

A few of them are itching to get on blip, but today Cat earned a special mention by baking ‘team cake’ in her new oven.

Cat’s got a wonderful sense of humour, always ready to laugh (even if it is occasionally at her own expense).

Easily the most fashionable in the team, her friendly helpful nature and organising skills mean all of us rely heavily on her to sense check the chaos we are designing.

She has an amazing mix of logical thinking and people skills.

She has only been in the team for 4 months, but I feel like I’ve known her for much much longer.

The amazing thing is, we have an entire team of people like this. A full team of great friends.

Thanks guys.
