We headed off early for a tour of the Speyside whisky factories.

It started off well. When I say well, what I actually mean is it started with my pregnant wife as a sober driver (jackpot!) and cask strength whisky before 10am.

We pottered around a few picking up some great drams. But S1 actually had a special surprise.

She had booked her Father and I onto a special tour around the Glenfiddich factory. We got to see into parts that the normal tour doesn’t go. We got to bottle our own bottle of hand picked single malt. And then the real treat…

This shot was taken in the Glenfiddich tasting rooms. We headed up and were greeted with a full set of all their main drams lined up, right from the 12 year old up to the 30 year old.

We worked our way back in time to about the year I was born. Our guide happily answered all out questions as we went and walked us through the tasting of each.

It was a memorable day to say the least!
