After our long walk yesterday we decided to be more sedentary today so went on the Cream Trip which travels through the beautiful Bay of Islands, delivers the mail to island settlements, goes to the hole in the rock and follows the dolphins.

A wonderful trip but unfortunately the sea was a bit rough so the cruising was fairly bumpy and we couldn’t go through the hole in the rock or swim with the dolphins. However our stopover at Urupukupuka Island, the site of an early Maori pa and then Zane Grey’s deep sea fishing camp, was beautiful – calm sea, glorious water colour, and the local welcoming committee was very friendly.
