After two hectic days in St Petersburg it was a delight to be docked close to the Old Town and be able to explore and wander freely along the original cobblestone streets dating back to medieval times.

This UNESCO World Heritage town has managed to preserve its whole structure from Medieval and Hanseatic times.  St Olafs Church (built in 14th Century) and the Guild Hall (built in 1410) were much older and very different from many we have seen in Europe, and very beautiful.

While exploring a narrow lane of shops and restaurants we were attracted to the delicate sounds of Fur Elise ………. played with a spoon on wine glasses.  Amazing 🙂
